                Robert C. Nimon

Mr. Nimon is the managing director of Genesis Planning, with over 28 years in health care consulting and hospital operations experience. Mr. Nimon has successfully completed more than 200 planning assignments and numerous strategic initiatives for clients on a domestic and international basis. Bob is nationally recognized for his expertise in technology planning, however his knowledge covers the range of facility programming and planning, business and finance, and operational issues. He also has the added experience in the development of new health care ventures.

Prior to Genesis Planning, Mr. Nimon was a member of the DeBakey Consulting Group and also provided consulting services to Deloitte & Touche’s national health care practice. Additional professional experience includes serving as Director of Medical Technology Planning at Texas Children’s Hospital and The Methodist Hospital, specifically hired for these two institutions’ expansion and development programs of $140 million and $350 million respectfully.

Current projects includes planning activities for the $420 million Ambulatory Care Building for The Methodist Hospital; replacement facilities for Shriners Hospitals for Children in Honolulu and Portland; $500 million campus renovation and redevelopment projects for Methodist Willowbrook and Sugar Land Hospitals; and an advanced $200 million research and training facility in the Texas Medical Center. Bob is also involved in the project development of a new 200-bed children’s hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Mr. Nimon’s combination of both domestic and international experience in non-for-profit academic facilities and for-profit hospital groups brings unique insight and creativity to his planning engagements. Additionally, his in-depth knowledge of technology as a critical component of hospital operations and performance provides clients with enhanced decision making capabilities.

Bob has also pioneered a strategic technology approach that integrates issues of long-range planning, capital management, operations and the adoption of future technology. He is often called upon to discuss and present on issues such as Technology Trends and ‘OR of the Future’ subjects.

Experience
Mr. Cappiello has over 25 years of extensive experience in medical technology planning for major healthcare projects and hospitals. His capabilities include Asset Management, Technology Project Management and Sourcing and Supply Chain optimization.

Past experience includes corporate management for medical technology planning, selection and maintenance for the world renowned health organization New York Presbyterian Hospital System. This health system includes 20 facilities and 2,300 beds. While there, Mr. Cappiello built a division that includes a total of 61 field service engineers, 4 Site Directors, 10 Clinical Engineering Managers, 6 Senior Equipment Planners, and a support staff of 10. He was responsible for an annual operations budget of $20 million and over $35 million per year for acquisition of Medical/IT technology.

Current planning activities include medical technology planning for a $300 million expansion for Jersey Shore University Medical Center; a $250 million expansion project for The Williamsport Hospital; a new $200 million Research Institute for The Methodist Hospital; and the 400,000SF expansion for St Frances Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria, LA.

Jim also oversees Genesis' procurement group that is currently coordinating the procurement and installation of over $600 million of medical equipment for current projects.

Other accomplishments have included the design and building the infrastructure for a nationally based technology sourcing program; development and management of large scale healthcare asset management programs including asset recovery/asset assessment services; developing strategic approaches to vendor partnerships and alliances, and the development of a web-based logistical operations planning system.

Jim brings to our clients an unparalleled approach and understanding of medical technology, its trends and adaptations to the ever evolving health delivery models.
